VOA is a faith based, non-profit organization dedicated to helping individuals, families and communities reach their full spiritual, emotional and physical potential and well-being through a vast array of human services that target the elderly, at risk youth, those striving to overcome substance abuse, those transiting from correctional centers, veterans, homelessness and more.

Essential Job Functions Include:

  • Ensure the daily operational aspects of the program are carried out.
  • Perform intakes on new residents according to timelines.
  • Enter required information into secure manage within timelines.
  • Inventory all incoming property to ensure property matrix is followed.
  • Conduct searches of dorms, vehicles and persons for contraband.
  • Conduct facility and perimeter checks for safety, security and contraband.
  • Obtain urine specimens for drug and/or alcohol usage.
  • Monitor and document resident movement.
  • Monitor residents assigned to various chores.
  • Ensure that Wyoming Department of Corrections Operational Standards & Procedures, Federal Bureau of Prisons Statement of Work, and organizational policies and procedures are followed.
  • Monitor residents for accountability to program rules and regulations.
  • Conduct head counts for resident census and accountability.
  • Monitor resident visitation sessions to ensure compliance.
  • Conduct phone calls for resident accountability.
  • Document incidents and issues and submit reports to supervisor within timeline.
  • Collaborate with resident case worker with issues or concerns.
  • Observe the life and safety requirements.
  • Conduct fire drills per scheduled dates and times.
  • Manage resident medications as well as stock medications and first aid supplies.

 Other Job Functions Include:

  • Assist with the preparation and serving of meals when needed.
  • Attends required staff meetings and/ or trainings.
  • Assist with transportation of residents when needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 Physical Demands:

  • Ability to move or transfer items throughout the facility generally weighing 0 - 50 pounds.

 Special Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to hold individuals accountable for their actions.
  • Ability to communicate clear and concise.
  • Ability to write reports detailing events in a chronological order.
  • Ability to positively work with difficult individuals.
  • Ability to work within a team environment as well individually.
  • Ability to be task oriented and goal driven.
  • Ability to drive a company vehicle if needed.
  • Ability to be empathetic to others and promote a positive environment.
  • Computer skills, including Microsoft Office.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent and a minimum of one year of work experience in a residential setting or related field.
  • Possess a valid driver's license.
  • All candidates will need prior approval before being hired by Wyoming Department of Corrections (WDOC) and Bureau of Prisons (BOP) to work with offenders in our Re-Entry program and also complete forty hours of training from both agencies.
