VOA is a faith based, non-profit organization dedicated to helping individuals, families and communities reach their full spiritual, emotional and physical potential and well-being through a vast array of human services that target the elderly, at risk youth, those striving to overcome substance abuse, those transiting from correctional centers, veterans, homelessness and more.

Essential Job Functions Include:

  • Ensures the program plans are in compliance with all VOA, and Wyoming Department of Corrections (DOC) Policies and Procedures on a daily basis.
  • Regularly coordinates intakes and orientation of new residents.
  • Routinely councils residents on personal, family, financial, employment, behavioral and other matters.
  • Ensures that all communication regarding liquidated damages is reported in the designated time frame including submission of information to ProgramDirector.
  • Ensures that all deficiencies are reported to supervisor immediately upon discovery.
  • Ensures ongoing resident compliance with the resident handbook and other individualized program plan requirements.
  • Regularly advises program director of disciplinary issues, special needs and emergencies.
  • Regularly monitors resident's attendance at assigned programming.
  • Prepares parole summaries for transitional residents as needed.
  • Coordinates releases from program to community as appropriate.
  • Attends all parole hearings.
  • Prepares all professional documentation as required by the Department of Corrections or any other contracting entity.
  • Maintains supervision meeting with residents as contractually required.
  • Attends bi-weekly DOC team meetings.
  • Periodically travels to outside training and/or supervision checks of residents.
  • Occasionally travels utilizing company/personal vehicle.
  • Oversees outcome measurement systems and annual reporting.

Other Job Functions Include:

  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Assists residents in the utilization of transportation, and perform transportation duties as necessary.
  • Attends all staff meetings and training as requested.
  • Occasionally assists with back-up for residential mentors.
  • Periodically obtains urine specimens for drug screens.
  • Attends meetings and trainings as needed.

Physical Demands:

  • May be required to sit at a computer station for extended periods of time in order to complete essential job functions.
  • Ability to lift and transfer up to 50 pounds.

Special Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of adult corrections facilities/procedures.
  • Financial management skills.
  • Ability to relate to persons and families affected by chemical dependency, prior criminal activity, and demonstrate an interest in assisting clients in a successful transition to successful post-incarceration living.
  • Ability to communicate assertively and in a positive manner with clients at all times.
  • Ability to maintain a professional demeanor while working in a stressful environment.
  • Ability to work with potentially difficult people in confrontational and/or emergency situations.
  • Ability and desire to provide leadership and motivation in a team atmosphere.
  • Ability to drive a company vehicle for the purpose of transporting residents.
  • Ability to effectively communicate, both orally and in writing.
  • Computer skills, including Microsoft Office.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice, Behavioral Science or related and one year of related work experience.
  • All candidates will need prior approval before being hired by Wyoming Department of Corrections (WDOC) and Bureau of Prisons (BOP) to work with offenders in our Re-Entry program and also complete forty hours of training from both agencies
